Water in your phone speaker? Clean it with sound

🔊 Volume full · 📱 Speaker facing down

Uses a low-frequency tone (165 Hz), the same idea as the Water Lock eject on smartwatches. Remove headphones first.

How the speaker cleaner works

Your phone speaker is a small membrane behind a mesh grille. When water or fine dust gets into that grille, the sound becomes muffled, quiet or crackly. Speakerfix plays a low-frequency tone (around 165 Hz) in short pulses. The membrane vibrates hard and pushes droplets and loose particles out through the grille — the same idea as the Water Lock eject on smartwatches.

How to use it — 3 steps

  1. Turn the volume to maximum and remove headphones or Bluetooth speakers.
  2. Hold the phone with the speaker facing down so gravity helps the water fall out.
  3. Tap “Tap to start” and wait 20 seconds. Then play the test sound and check if it is clear.

If the sound is still muffled, run the clean 2–3 more times with short breaks, and wipe the grille with a dry cloth.

Frequently asked questions

Is it safe for my phone speaker?

Yes. The tone plays at the normal maximum volume your phone allows — the same level as loud music. Do not run it for many minutes in a row; 20-second sessions with breaks are enough.

Does it work on iPhone?

Yes, it works in Safari and Chrome. If you hear nothing, turn off Silent mode with the switch on the side of the iPhone.

Do I need to install an app?

No. Everything runs in your browser. Nothing is installed and no permissions are needed.

How many times should I run it?

Usually 1–3 runs are enough. Hold the phone speaker-down each time.

Can I use it for dust as well as water?

Yes. Low-frequency pulses also shake loose dust out of the grille. For stuck dirt, gently clean the grille with a soft dry brush.

When it will not help

Sound can push out water and loose dust. It cannot fix a speaker that is physically damaged, a blocked grille full of hardened dirt, or a software problem. If nothing changes after several runs, check your sound settings and visit a service centre.
